Ritual: Because Your Friends Might Deserve It

At Fete-a-Tete, we hold certain rituals dear: Sunday mornings at the corner diner, September drives to see the leaves changing along the Hudson, skating in Rockefeller Center, Springtime gallery openings in Chelsea. Okay, actually, maybe just the diner thing. But we always think about the other stuff.

We strive to maintain another ritual, too: the dinner party with friends. But it can be time-consuming. Also, our friends are really picky.

What a relief it was, then, to find out about Ritual, the newest “meal kit” delivery service that could handle all of our divas’ needs.

What’s the Deal?

Ritual is a service that delivers ready-to-cook meals right to your door. They’re portioned out and composed of restaurant-quality ingredients with as much organic and local produce as possible. The meals are creative, not overly complicated, and can be made in 30 minutes or less. Okay, I’ve heard this before, you’re saying. But here’s our favorite part: the menus (that are posted each week online) include options for vegans, vegetarians, paleo peeps, pescatarians, and omnivores.

You can finally be friends with all different kinds of people. Phew.

The other difference? The results of our meals were flashier than what we’ve found with similar services – way more “dinner party” than what we’d normally whip up on a weeknight. We had Chipotle-Rubbed Steak with Kale Pesto with Roasted Cauliflower and Pickled Scallion and Haricot Verts Succotash, and Pistachio-Crusted Tofu with Savory Pomegranate Vinaigrette, Butternut Squash Puree, and Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Baby Kale Salad. So many ingredients! So little chopping! So much yum.

At $25 per person and straight-to-your-door delivery, Ritual may make dinner parties into a twice a week thing.

That is, if our fussy friends deserve it.
