Everyone Likes Food and Booze: Gifts for Your Fourth of July Host

Have you noticed that lately there’s a party, like, every second? We love how everyone seems to be on board with our feeling that any Summer night (and every Summer night) is a perfect time for a soirée. We’ll think back on these times lovingly next Winter, when our only interactions with our friends are to explain why, no, we don’t want to come to dinner because we literally cannot get out of our sweatpants. But one conundrum that comes with constant partying is what to get our hosts. And even though we are endlessly original and brilliant and can always think of something (see: not true), the truth is that not all gifts for your host need be expensive, customized, gilded, or the most hilarious thing that’s ever been made. Sometimes, especially for a gathering like a Summer barbecue, a little gesture is all it takes to say, “Hey, thanks for having me.” There is one thing everyone likes. And that’s food. And there is one other thing that almost everyone likes. And that is booze.

Here are our foodie and boozie gifts for Fourth of July barbecues and other Summer socials. We wanted to alliterate there so we pretended that Summer socials were a thing. Go with it.
