Something You Should Know: Jenni Kayne Does Tableware

You know what’s one of our favorite things? Besides booze and baked goods, that is? We love when a cool designer takes on tableware. It’s like two of our favorite worlds colliding, and often feels like just the shift of aesthetic, just the expert’s eye, that we were looking for.

So we were pretty psyched to realize that Jenni Kayne, one of our favorite minimalist cool-girl designers, had added a home section to her already wonderful site. The goods, though not all designed by Kayne herself, fit right in amongst her clothing: they’re spare while still being standout pieces, and luxe because of the materials and craftmaship used to make them, not because they’re flashy.

Some of our favorite pieces are the Siemon and Salazar grey/black ceramic vases and bowls, the granite trivets and candleholders, and the dipped maple baker’s pin, which we think would be a super chic present for any hostess we know.

We can’t say we’re surprised that Jenni Kayne has an eye for chic staples that can mix and match with anything; but we can say, we’re psyched that she’s sharing the love.
