Snowdays NYC: Skip the Lines and Make ‘Em Come To You
Do you know what a snowcream is? Yeah, we didn’t either. Until we noticed these gorgeous, colorful creations popping up on our Instagram feed. What were these magic mounds of icy goodness, topped with things like Fruity Pebbles, Capt’n Crunch, and melty gooey peanut butter sauce?
We investigated. And we found Snowdays NYC, a snowcream shop on the Lower East Side that can only be called a sensation — that, in fact, might be considered an addiction. Even in the winter, the lines outside are dozens of people long. And everyone’s got their camera out, ready to Instagram their creations. They’re such a hit that the shop, unable to deal with demands, is opening a second location in the West Village in August.
But what we’re here to tell you is that Snowdays now has a catering service. Which means that you can skip the lines and liven up your party by having these snowcreams come to you.
For $500, you get multiple flavors — Yeti tracks, their signature, tastes like cookies and cream, (but it’s blue, because it’s made with blueberries, who doesn’t like eating blue ice?), NY Cheesecake, Matcha Green Tea, savory Black Sesame, or vegan coconut — toppings like Pocky Sticks, marshmallows and peanuts, and drizzles (think blueberry puree, peanut butter, salted caramel). The service comes with a machine and two people to serve the treats and can serve up to 50 guests (or maybe a little more).
We love that the catering service is just as choose-your-own-adventure as a trip to the store itself.
We think Snowdays is the perfect way to add some colorful flavor to a summer party, to make your guests feel like kids again, and to switch up the same old soft serve.
