Because You’re as Busy as Beyoncé

Okay, we know. We have as many hours in a day as Beyoncé.

But those hours can fill up quickly, what with working, working out, trying to find our misnamed cup at Starbucks. The last thing we want to do is decide what to have for our workday lunch. And so, we don’t. We buy the same unsatisfying salad on the daily, varying only an ingredient or two, and it doesn’t make us feel like our fabulous foodie selves. It certainly doesn’t make us feel like Beyoncé.

Thankfully, we’ve got a new lunch buddy, named Hungery NYC, come to save us from sad al desco lunches for good.

What’s the Deal?

Hungery NYC is a seasonal lunch delivery service that uses the freshest ingredients in ways that are both inventive and healthy, so that you can enjoy your weekday lunches with no regrets. Here’s how it works: Check the website for weekly menus and select which lunch you’d like to order. There’s always a vegetarian option and in addition to lunches, there are snack and juice options. We tried a salmon and soba meal and a zucchini fritter number, which were both major upgrades from our regular midday meals. We tried a snack, the oatmeal raisin Amazeballs and were… amazed. They’re like cookies! Only balls (what’s better than that?).

Lunch starts at $18, with the option to add juice, tea, coconut water, and snacks. It’s like the good old days, when you got to bring your lunch to school, only instead of a slimy turkey sandwich, you get a gourmet meal cooked by a professional chef, that gets delivered to you. Okay, so it’s not like the old days. But that’s probably a good thing.

With a $50 minimum, this service is best used by a group of buds (or just co-workers) who want to eat healthy, non-boring food together.

Then, use all that extra time that you’d normally spend debating whether or not to get goat cheese on your salad to plan your next kick-ass dinner party. Or learn something. Or, let’s get real, watch an Internet video about cats. We don’t know. Ask Beyoncé.
