#Crushing: Twig New York presents a Modern Twist on China

Some people dream about clothes. Some people dream of vacations. We at #FAT dream in china. And when we stumbled upon Twig New York, we wondered if we’d stumbled into one of our own colorful crazy dreamscapes. Twig New York is upping the china game, and doing it with a modern, artistic perspective. From more traditional interpretations of china patterns, like The Heritage collection, to pretty pastels, like the Charlotte and Layla, to more outside the box designs like the Cutlery or the Reve.

Jackie, the young founder, grew up in a family of craftsman with a long history of china production and design. Venturing out on her own, she’s putting her own twist on the old art of china making, working with young artists, painters, and sculptors, to reinterpret bone china and other ceramics. Their many artist collaborations, with the likes of Korean sculptor Hayoon Kim and midwestern painter and dairy farmer Molly Hatch, Twig brings us trend-forward and fancy designs that are far from prissy or outdated, and their surprising pieces are as fly as they are functional. So, who says we can’t have twelve sets of china?
