Because I’m Appy: The Mixologist App
We are firm believers in the specialty cocktail. A special cocktail – something other than the vodka soda or gin and tonic your guests might have at home – makes an evening (or hey, a morning… you do you) feel festive and like an occasion. We love an occasion! Don’t you? “But specialty cocktails are time-consuming!” you say, and “I don’t have a bartending license!” Well quit your whining and download the Mixologist App. If you don’t already know about it, we’re here to tell you that you should.
The Mixologist app is easy peasy. You can search cocktails by ingredients, calorie count, or seasonal appeal. You can also use the random cocktail generator to play a sort of cocktail roulette, and surprise yourself!
We felt like using honey to make a nice Fall cocktail and found one we loved: the Purple Ruby. It was sweet and tart and really agreed with us at 3 p.m., when we made it. And, um, we might have had another.
