Snack Attack: Blueberry-Spinach Power Up Smoothie

This blueberry and spinach smoothie packed with maca powder and protein is my ultimate energy boosting, cold fighting cure for everything from mid afternoon slumps to picky toddler snacking. Whether I’m pregnant, nursing, or just looking for something that fills me up, gives me that quick energy kick I need, and provides all the super food nutrients for a full day, this smoothie does it all. Maca powder is a pantry staple here at Witten Kitchen because of it’s plant based energy boosting nutrients and that delightfully faint nutty taste that adds great to smoothies, muffins, coffee, and other baked goods. A little goes a long way and has major health benefits for every kind of eater.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries (you can use fresh but buying frozen and in bulk is more cost effective)
  • 1/4 cup frozen peaches or mango
  • 1/2 fresh apple, peeled
  • 1 banana
  • 2 Tbsp. full fat or 2% plain yogurt {opt out for a vegan version)
  • 1 cup almond milk or favorite non dairy milk
  • 1 cup spiunch
  • 1 1/2 tsp. maca powder
  • 1 scoop of plant protein
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 Tbsp. Chia Seeds
  1. In a blender, combine all ingredients.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Drink cold.
