Openings: What’s the French Word for “Eataly”?

Last week, the French mega-market Le District opens downtown and we could not be more psyched. Separated into various districts, the market that’s being marketed as the “French Eataly” will have three restaurants and a concierge who will gather all the items on your grocery list, s’il vous plait. Here’s what you can expect to find.

Restaurant District:

Le Bar: A casual restaurant with some of the same fare as the fancier one. Crafted cocktails. Open late.

Beaubourg: A French brasserie. Think: escargots, moules, l’hamburger.

L’Appart: The chef’s table, where you can watch the chef at work.

Other Offerings:

The Market District: Fromagerie, rotisserie, charcuterie, and other French words for florist, fish counter, and butcher. Cool thing: the butcher will grill you anything you like, if you’d like to bring that meat home cooked.

The Garden District: Fresh produce, prepared foods, fresh coffee beans. There is a salad bar that turns into a chocolate mousse bar come 4 p.m., because we all have a 7-year-old eater in us.

Café District: This is where you get your morning joe. Along with a croissant, an éclair, and some truffles for later. It’s okay. You’re French now. That means you can’t get fat.
