You’ve created a special shopping experience in the West Village – with a fantastic selection of antique china and other home goods. How did you become inspired to collect and sell?

As a young man, I traveled throughout Europe and the United States and visited many museums and beautiful homes. I developed an appreciation for the artisans who created the furnishings and decorative arts that adorned these homes. I longed for this beauty and refinement; I began furnishing my home with antiques and accessories to create an environment of old world elegance in a modern and fast-paced city.

How would you describe your entertaining style?

Eclectic elegance.

5 Essentials to throwing a party at home?

A fabulous guest list. Impeccable food. Stunning flowers. Beautiful china, crystal, and table décor. Stimulating conversation.

Any all-time favorite entertaining pieces you couldn’t live without?

A fully stocked bar cart. French crystal wine glasses. And no party is complete without a pair of stunning candelabras.

If someone wanted to begin collecting antiques, and asked your advice, what would it be?

Only collect what you love! Don’t collect for the sake of collecting. That is called hoarding.

Do you cook? What’s your favorite appetizer to serve? Cocktail?

My favorite cocktail is a French 75; it pairs beautifully with my favorite appetizer: fried, crusted balls of goat cheese drizzled with lavender honey.

What’s the best host gift you’ve ever given or received?

A pair of red and gold Venetian glass goblets.

What’s the first thing you notice when you walk into someone else’s party? It’s okay to be a li’l judgmental.

Beautiful flowers, or the lack thereof.

3 things that are always in your fridge?

A good bottle of champagne, great cheese, and a fine paté.

If you could party with one person – living or dead – who would it be?

Eartha Kitt. Her laugh was intoxicating and her life was inspiring.
