Restaurant Style: Stealing Santina’s Coastal Chic

In our last restaurant style series we were crushing on The Nomad Hotel’s sexy, moody, loungey vibe. But now that the sun has come out, we’re feeling like bright, happy colors, and bringing a vacation-feeling into our homes.

What restaurant exemplifies this style? Santina, the coastal Italian darling tucked under the highland, where we love to sit outside and have a Santina Spritz and crush those chic pea pancakes that we ALSO try to recreate at home. The decor — by Thomas Schlesser and Design Bureaux — quickly transports you away from NYC, across the Atlantic to the Amalfi coast. The striking glass box that is Santina is decorated like an Italian seaside mansion with Murano Glass chandeliers, ocean blue upholstery, lemon tree tiling, and a marble and brass bar, dotted with birds of paradise and citrus and palm trees. The orange and blue umbrellas are exactly as you’d find in Positano and Capri. But we don’t see why some of these elements couldn’t come into our homes and onto our tabletops to make a Summer meal (preferably al fresco!) feel a little more like a getaway.
