Ingredients
  • 2 ounces Bourbon (we used Michter's)
  • 1 tsp. honey
  • 1 squeeze lemon juice
  • 2 pieces star anise
  • 1 orange peel
  • 3 slices of fresh ginger
  • hot water
Tips
  • Use a very thick glass whenever dealing with hot water
  1. In a medium-sized thick glass, pour in the bourbon then add 1 teaspoon of honey.
  2. Squeeze in a quarter of a lemon.
  3. Drop the 2 pieces of star anise into the glass. They will float to top once you pour in hot water.
  4. Add in ginger slices, no need to muddle, you just want the ginger flavor to steep in hot drink.
  5. Fill with hot water, almost to top of glass.
  6. Stir, do not shake
  7. Top with orange peel, so it floats to top with the star anise.
