Restaurant Rolodex: Fall Restaurant Openings We Are Revved Up About

What’s better than a whole new batch of NYC restaurants? Nothing, we say! Nothing! September feels like a homecoming-time for New Yorkers, and these recently opened and coming-soon restaurants will make us glad to be here.

The Poké Spot

Have your poké and eat it too – in many forms: bowl, salad, or… avocado boat. Yep, we said avocado boat. (Open now.)

120 4th Ave., Union Sq. NY, NY 10003

Eataly Downtown

The new Eataly is bread-themed, but they sell more than that. It’s also the only Eataly that serves breakfast. (Open now.)

101-125 Liberty St. NY, NY 10006

Fowler & Wells

We’re psyched for anything that Tom Colicchio and Keith McNally do, so we’re sort of ready for this restaurant (which was supposed to open in June) in the Beekman hotel to open already. Okay guys? Let’s go. (Coming soon.)

5 Beekman St. NY, NY 10038

DeKalb Market Hall

We’re sort of into the whole food hall thing. Maybe it’s because we’re indecisive and like to eat, like, twelve different cuisines at once. So we’re psyched that Brooklyn’s getting a new supersized food hall, and even more psyched to hear rumors that Katz’s deli’s involved. DeKalb Market Hall is set to open this Fall. (Coming soon.)

City Point
445 Gold St. Brooklyn, NY 11201

Denino’s Pizza

People say that Staten Island has the best pizza. But when you’ve had some drinks and are craving a slice, Staten Island may not be an option. Rejoice, downtown revelers! One of Staten Island’s best has just opened an outpost in Greenwich Village. So you can crush clam pizza any time. (Open now.)

93 MacDougal St. NY, NY 10012

Olmsted

The new (and already majorly popular) Prospect Heights restaurant proudly states that it’s a neighborhood spot. Still, the seasonally-driven menu looks anything but ordinary: watermelon sushi, charcuterie pretzel puffs, and crawfish boil crackers live alongside more familiar dishes like dry rubbed scallops and a NY steak. (Open now.)

659 Vanderbilt Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11238

Metrograph Commissary

The recently opened cinema which screens classic Hollywood films has opened its commissary, modeled after the backlot cafeterias of Hollywood’s yesteryear. But don’t expect cafeteria food, expect steak tartare and burrata. We. Are. So. In. (Open now.)

No. 7 Ludlow St. NY, NY 10002

Pasquale Jones

The newish pizza/pasta joint is somewhere between fancy and totally chill (they don’t have a phone number, after all), and perfect for when you want pizza but also want really good wine. Plus it’s where Kim & Kanye partied post-VMAs. (Open now.)

187 Mulberry St. NY, NY 10012

Poawalla

What’s better than naan? A thousand different kinds of naan. Naan stuffed with bacon. Naan with six different kinds of chutney. Floyd Cardoz’s new restaurant doesn’t only serve naan, of course, but it may be what we’re most excited to stuff in our faces. (Open now.)

195 Spring St. NY, NY 10012

Mimi NYC

Traditional French food in a lovely modern setting. We’re in. Also we’re totally girl crushing on the chef, Liz Johnson, who’s only 25. #GOALS (Open now.)

185 Sullivan St. NY, NY

Ladybird

Chef Daphne Cheng teams up with Ravi DeRossi (of The Bourgeois Pig, Death & Co., among others) to bring innovative, vegetarian tapas to NYC. We’re intrigued by vegetable charcuterie, caramelized artichoke hearts, seared peach caprese. Oh, and burrata. We’ll eat that too. (Open now.)

127 MacDougal St. NY, NY 10012

Seabird

The newly opened seafood-centric restaurant is like a li’l beach shack in the heart of NYC. The menu seems like it might have come from a beach in heaven, though: conch mac and cheese is what we’re looking forward to. (Open now.)

361 6th Ave. NY, NY 10014

Tapestry

Does it feel like NYC is having an Indian-food moment? Yes. And we’re cool with it. Tapestry is on our Fall hit list, with it’s cute décor and yum-sounding menu of updated classics: Masala Fried Chicken, Harira Posole, and Red Hot Lobster Curry. (Open now.)

60 Greenwich Ave. NY, NY 10011
