Sometimes we get bored of our own cooking. These are the days when we succumb to our favorite pizza delivery (hey Patsy’s!), down a bottle of red, and get in bed early. But it doesn’t make us feel very exciting or, say, spicy.
Thats why we were so psyched to hear about Raw Spice Bar, a new monthly subscription service (that’s only $6/month!) that delivers a little box of explosive flavors in the form of authentic, freshly ground spices, directly to your door — all the inspiration you need to spice up your life. Working with chefs and foodies from around the world, the RSB team creates themed boxes, like Punjab Indian, Jamaican, or Japanese, and provides easy to follow recipes, and a little trivia on the region or theme (nerd alert, we love trivia!).
Each month’s blends provide three distinct spice mixtures, which you can use in multiple recipes. Tuesday we made a legit Malaysian curry dinner and then experimented on Friday with our own Malaysian Meatballs, which turned out to be real crowd pleasers.
Raw Spice Bar not only reminds us to spice up our lives but it also does something else incredibly important: It provides an excuse to blast the Spice Girls. Were Posh, Gerry, Baby, Sporty, and Scary really talking us into the kitchen? We think maybe.
