Feed Your Friends: Pimped Out Party Platters

Every party needs a platter that’s why we invited you. Wait, what? That’s not how it goes. Who cares? Party platters are the easiest way to make your guests happy and ensure that you, the hostess, can enjoy your night. By piling a little bit of this and a little bit of that real high, you can create a colorful, hodgepodge of deliciousness that not only looks beautiful and bountiful but is convenient and need not be perfectly arranged and dolloped with some emulsion to look fancypants. Party convenience is the name of the game here, people — assembly happens before guests arrive, guests can grab and go as they please, and you don’t have to spend your evening serving, refilling, or heating up. But let us be clear: We are advocating bountiful, colorful, overflowing, welcoming, stacks on stacks on stacks party platters, not sad li’l premade cheese cube trays you bought at the grocery store. There’s a difference.

Here, some pimped out party platters that meet our (and everyone else’s) requirements.

The Roasted Veggie Rainbow Tray with Cool Yogurt Dipping Sauces

(Click for Full Recipe)

Roasting your veggies make this platter feel a little more dressed up and hearty that baby carrots and chopped celery. You fancy, veggie platter. We paired it with two of our favorite yogurt dipping sauces, Roasted Red Pepper Lemon Dip and Greek Yogurt Tzatziki. Serve this with naan  or any other kind of rustic bread.
