BOOK REPORT: Sundays are for Carbo-Loading

Traveling to Italy is great and all, but… Well, there’s actually no “but”. We find that traveling to Italy just makes us want to go back. When when we come home, we find ourselves whiney and sad that the food we’re eating is just not up to snuff. Our tums long for those simple pasta dishes that rock our worlds, despite having, like, two ingredients. We know, #firstworldproblems, but problems all the same.

Luckily, the recipes in Sunday Pasta by Edwin Garrubbo allow us to experience that feeling stateside, nay, kitchenside. The food blogger and author is on a mission to keep authentic Italian cooking in the home kitchen (as opposed to in restaurants), which is good because last time we checked, we can’t jet off to Italy every time we want to stuff our faces with carbs.

The book provides a pasta-only approach to Sunday dinners, with traditional dishes organized by season, and focuses on great ingredients, fresh produce, and a whole lotta love. We’re psyched to rock the Paccheri with Sausage, Zucchini, and Burrata, and the Bucatini Cacio Peppe.

Well-known to be the most anxiety-producing of weeknights, Sundays are bound to be much better with big bowls full of Garrubo’s food remedies, which are easy to make and great for crowds. What better way than carbs and friendship to beat the Sunday scaries?

Here’s what to serve at your Sunday din:
TROFIE AL PESTO GENOVESE (Basil Pesto)
SPAGHETTI CON LE VONGOLE (w/ Clams)
Pair these with some of our own sides and salads!

Oh, and did we mention we are giving away a free copy of Sunday Pasta? Like Us or Follow Us for a chance to win!
